About More Than A Geek®
David McDonald

I have been working with computers exensively since 1984. At that time, I was employed with Sperry Corporation in Long Island, New York, where I set up computers and installed software; in addition to mainframe programming. I was with Sperry (UNISYS) for eight (8) years (the last six in Reston and Tysons Corner, VA), learning about Novel Networks, Spreadsheet programming (Lotus 1-2-3 and Symphony Macro coding), database programming (dBase) , as as developing a my experience dealing with corporate Finance.

After UNISYS, I was employed with America's Charities for the next eight (8) years in Fairfax, VA. While there, I developed extensive proprietary database applications to manage Workplace Fundraising. I also developed networks, established internet connectivity, and basically brought the company into the age of the Internet. When I left I had achieved the role of Director of Fiscal Services and Information Systems with a small staff in both departments.

For the past dozen years or so I have had the opportunity to work in various positions as a contract employee with a number of great companies including MCI/WorldCom and America Online.

I took a position with Icon Graphics in Hagerstown, MD in May of 2008.

From September 2013 through November 2014 I was employed as a programmer with TBC in Juno Beach, Florida, in support of ROWriter

During 2015 I was at Fort Pierce Utilities Authority (FPUA) as a programmer/analyst.

I currently work full time from my home office, supporting Vector Resources, Inc. as well as providing services at no cost to non profits and the First United Methodist Church of Port Saint Lucie.
